34 Weeks!

David is so excited to meet our baby. He tells me multiple times daily about how much he loves our little guy. He talks to my belly at least twice a day to say good morning and good night, if not more, just because! He also puts words into baby's mouth for him, and tells me how he imagines our baby is positioned in the womb or how he reacts to some of our interactions.

33 Weeks!

Yay for the Texas government and the Texas Workforce Commission! Justice has been served! We got a phone call a couple of days ago informing us that we will be getting David's wages that his employer was refusing to pay him! They gave us the impression that we would be seeing those wages within a month. Hallelujah! That will make getting by until other employment comes through MUCH easier!

The job search continues. There are a few prospects, but we are still playing the waiting game. Hopefully we will know something within the next two weeks? I feel like I've been saying that for the last month! At least there are people that are interested in David's skills!

We finally set up the crib! It feels SOOO good to finally have a place to bring our baby! We had been postponing assembling the crib because we were not sure if we would need to move in with my parents or not. Since the baby's guess date is only 7 weeks away, we figured that we are close enough to his arrival that it is pretty safe to assume that we'll be living with my parents when he is born.

Even if David gets a job (locally) we plan to live with my parents until the baby is at least a month old. Adjusting to a new baby is hard enough (so I hear) and we don't want to stress ourselves out by trying to move too soon afterwards. We are hoping that the stay is as short-term as possible though. We can pray!

Here is my ever-expanding body. I have been noticing stretch marks all over in the last week. I made it so long without any! I'm not too worried about them though, especially since I've still got a while to go and I'm sure that they'll only multiply...

I like to play with baby. He pushes on my belly, I push his foot back down, and he pushes back somewhere else. I push his foot (or elbow, or knee, or hand) back down and it pops back up somewhere else. It's like that whack-a-mole game you see at arcades. It's definitely David's child if he's already playing games... hehe David would be so proud!

32 Weeks!

Ah! 32! Baby will be here so soon!

Since no jobs have come through yet, the plan is to move in with my parents when our lease ends in March. I will be 37 weeks pregnant at that point! I am trying to get things packed up early so that it won't be as stressful. Luckily we are only moving 10 minutes away.

We are still waiting to hear from the company in New York. We are not holding our breath at this point. They are taking so long that we don't expect to hear good news when they finally contact us. But, we're not officially out of the running yet.

30 Weeks!

Baby is squirmy! I don't really feel him kicking as much, mostly just squirming. I feel him pretty much all day long, which is a comfort to me! I feel him get bigger every day. I wake up every morning and feel my belly and think, "you grew!" From now until 37 weeks, baby will gain half a pound every week! Crazy!

David has been interviewing like crazy this last week. He has interviewed with companies in Dallas, Austin, and Albany, NY. The Dallas company is another start-up company, and have been annoyingly persistent about wanting to hire David. David does not have good feelings about working for the company, not to mention that we are still waiting to hear from the other two companies. The Dallas company is pressuring David to make a decision now, rather than respecting the two weeks that David requested. They bugged him all weekend about how his interview with the CEO went, and now they are bugging him to make a decision. Very annoying.

The other two companies are much more professional, which is nice, except the fact that it involves a lot of waiting. We have been waiting for a full week to hear from the Austin company, and we were told that it would be "a week or so" before we hear anything from NY. Please pray that David made an impression on at least one of them-- he has a lot of competition! We are realizing just how competitive these jobs are, and just hoping and praying that he gets an offer. It's perfectly realistic that neither of them will offer him a job. But we are prayerful :)

29 weeks- an eventful week!

This week has been good for the job search! David has interviewed with 2 companies, and will be interviewing early next week with a third!

We are excited at the prospects of having three companies to choose between, assuming they all offer him something. We definitely have our preference between the three, but we will see who offers what.

God is definitely keeping our needs in mind. We are very blessed! The chances are good that if we need to relocate that it will happen before I'm too pregnant to move. Thank goodness!

An update...

It's really nice that there are laws, agencies, and insurance companies that exist to protect me, but it stinks that situations arise that necessitate their existence in the first place. David and I have been having to take advantage of too many of these resources lately. I am so glad that they are there, but I wish that we didn't need them to be there.

Sorry that's so vague, but i can't really give any more details than that.

I met my new baby doctor yesterday. He seems very knowledgeable and flexible, so I feel comfortable with him. We got to see our little baby again! We even got some 3d and 4d images taken, but because of how he was positioned, the images are not that great. Baby is still a boy, and is in the 53rd percentile. He weighs approximately 2lbs 14oz right now! And he is head-down, which is good news. Doctor estimates he'll weigh around 7 lbs at full term. We will see!

We also toured the hospital where I will be delivering the baby. The hospital is very nice and seems to be very accommodating to different ways of birthing. The hospital is also equipped to care for any baby born after 25 weeks, which I have already passed, so that is good!

David's job search is going decently. There are several companies interested in him, so hopefully one of them will pan out and will end up in a job offer! Preferably soon, so that if we have to move we won't be doing it at the same time that we are expecting the baby to arrive. Something within the next 6 weeks would be ideal. The sooner, the better!

I haven't been posting belly pictures lately because my computer is being repaired, and I use my webcam to take those pictures. My belly seems to grow bigger by the day. My bellybutton has flattened out, and half of it sticks out when I stuff myself with food and sit or stand in the right position. A couple more weeks and the bellybutton should be protruding no matter how much I've eaten or how I'm standing or sitting.
