Well it's been a while since I have updated. David and I spent the week after Christmas in Ohio with David's family, and we had such a great time! It was so nice to get away from the stresses of being unemployed during the holidays and have a chance to just enjoy ourselves a bit. It was so refreshing (and much needed) to let loose a little bit. We tried our best to make it through the holidays with good spirits even though a lot of things have not been going our way lately.
With David's absent paychecks and the legal issues from that, applying for the various welfare programs, switching baby doctors, and dealing with car insurance from the accident, we have had plenty to do since we got home from Ohio! It's keeping us busy, even though neither of us are working currently. It has been nice to be able to spend so much time with David, since from what I hear, our alone time will be seriously compromised once our little bundle of joy makes his debut in April.
On a more positive note, this week has been productive! We've gotten a lot taken care of, and we are finally beginning to hear back from people about positions he has applied for. Granted, they are all rejections thus far, but at least we are hearing from people and not feeling like we are throwing his resume out into some deep, dark abyss of nothing. We have heard from several recruiters this week that saw his resume on Monsterjobs, so we'll see if any of that pans out. The search continues...
Baby has been SUPER active the last couple of days. I mean, like he's kicking or hiccuping or squirming pretty much all day (and night) long. Most of the time I enjoy it, especially when I can see him squirming. It is pretty entertaining to watch my belly contort and pop with his movements. He is getting so strong that sometimes I feel my whole midsection pop in one direction, almost to the point where I feel like he is trying to get me to scoot over in my seat or something. I would love to get it on video, but I haven't had the camera nearby when he's doing it. I'll start keeping it around so that I can capture it ;-)
Other than the craziness that accompanies unemployment, there isn't too much else to report. I have some pictures from our Ohio visit that I will upload sooner or later.
